When it comes to luxury retreats, The Lodge at Blue Sky in Utah isn’t playing around. Perched on 3,500 acres of pristine ranch land, this getaway offers a blend of rugged adventure, sophisticated relaxation and just enough indulgence to make you reconsider going home. Whether you’re a ski-season junkie or a summer wanderer, Blue Sky is the kind of place that doesn’t just cater to your whims—it anticipates them. And yes, that’s as delightful as it sounds.
Serenity with style
The approach to The Lodge at Blue Sky has a flair for the dramatic, pulling first into the back roads past some of the horses and greenhouses, through the wood and aged metal gates, and up a winding path to a stunning entrance of stone and reclaimed wood. It's the kind of place where you half-expect a cowboy to tip his hat and offer you a whiskey on arrival. (Okay, maybe not, but the vibe is there and technically that can be arranged.) The design is intentionally organic, making The Lodge feel like it’s always been part of this stunning landscape.
The Lodge itself? Floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the Wasatch and Uinta mountains like a living postcard. The natural materials and earthy tones set the mood—this feels like a secret and humble sanctuary, not just a stopover. Whether you’re arriving for a weekend or a week, prepare to be smitten from the moment you push through the grand fifteen-foot doors and step inside.
Speaking of inside, The Lodge at Blue Sky is the perfect mix of rustic charm and modern luxury. The Living Room, just off reception, is a cozy haven where you can sink into plush sofas near a roaring fire, browse through curated books, or simply stare out at the mountains while pretending to read. (No judgment—those views are distracting!) Further into this space you’ll find The Bar and Yuta restaurant and terrace, as well as a Wine Room for private events.
Out onto the restaurant terrace you’ll find the views of the pool and spa. Set against the backdrop of the canyon, the infinity pool is where relaxation meets “Oh, I’m definitely posting this.” And for those looking to truly unwind, the Edge Spa is your go-to spot for pre- or post-adventure serenity.

Your personal slice of heaven in the rooms
The 46 rooms and suites at Blue Sky have even the pickiest person covered. Let’s start with the Sky Lodge Rooms and Suites, which are ideal for those who want to stay close to the action at the property's main space. With airy interiors, soaking tubs and terraces that serve up mountain sunsets, these spaces dare you to define an "introductory" offer. In the same building, you’ll find the Peregrine Suite, one-of-its-kind with a black marble soaking tub, separate dining area and views of the canyon—very romantic. Then there is the ultra-luxe two-bedroom Signature Suites. Spread out over two floors with a spacious living and dining area, these are perfect for families or groups who want to spread out—but easily still say “I’ll meet you downstairs at the bar in five.”
Now, we’ve got to talk about the new Suite Experience at Blue Sky. This includes a stocked set of homemade and locally sourced goodies, complimentary use of the Mercedes-Benz to take out wherever your activities may take you, a guided 4x4 tour of the expansive property and family-style menus that can be had in-room. We hate to say perks, but dang, that’s a generous amount of inclusive.
If you are looking for even more personalized service in your suite, you can pick from three of the signature packages specific to these rooms. The first is Family Adventure, which include provisions from Gracie’s Farm, hiking gear, in-room movie night goodies, board games, a glamping tent for the kids and a telescope in the room complete with stargazing supplies. The second, Wellness Warrior, will have you balancing body and mind with an in-room Peloton, Bala Bands for hiking, a tea-blending kit, sleep eye pillows and essential oils and a healing kit of oxygenated water, wellness shots and a Theragun for recovery. Finally, the Alpine Explorer, comes with a GoPro camera, energizing provisions for when you are out exploring, a restorative mix of CBD salve and a Theragun and a backpack full of supplies to head out on the trails.
Looking for something more secluded? The Earth Suites are tucked into the hillside and come with outdoor showers, fireplaces on the terrace and enough privacy to feel like you’ve claimed your own mountain retreat. Then there are the Creek Houses, a set of completely free-standing suites that are adults-only (and a no-pet space, but our little friends are welcome in all the other rooms!) and a haven for guests who prefer their mornings accompanied by the soothing murmur of a creek and true privacy tucked into the foothills of the property.

Farm to table at Yuta
Dining at The Lodge at Blue Sky is rooted in the land, offering experiences that feel as intentional as they are delicious. At the heart of it all is Yuta, where Executive Chef and James Beard award-winner Guillermo Tellez crafts menus that celebrate local ingredients, many sourced directly from Gracie’s Farm on the property. Set against the backdrop of sweeping mountain views, Yuta feels more like an extension of the landscape than a restaurant, with dishes that reflect the rugged elegance of Utah’s surroundings. The wine list is also a higlight, with an ultra-curated mix of off-the-beaten-path bottles to try.
For something a little more spirited, the on-site High West Distillery pairs its renowned small-batch whiskey with hearty, no-fuss mountain fare. This is where craftsmanship meets comfort, whether you’re sipping a perfect Old Fashioned or digging into a meal that satisfies after a day of adventure.
For more intimate or immersive options, the WildKitchen in summer (the second of its kind from Guy Ritchie) and Speyside Yurt in the winter (in partnership with Macallan) offer dining with a touch of adventure. At the WildKitchen, open flame cooking and locally-sourced ingredients takes center stage, offering bold, rustic flavors that match the breathtaking views. The Speyside Yurt, a cozy fireplace-heated spot nestled in the mountains, is the perfect setting for Macallan flights and small bites. While the bartender prepares your drinks, you can pick an album from the vinyl collection, stargaze with a variety of old-world telescopes or play the many vintage board games in the space. And for those seeking a truly personalized experience, Blue Sky’s private dining options transform any occasion into something memorable—whether it’s a candlelit dinner on the terrace or a bespoke feast in the wine room.

Relaxation with a view
Wellness at The Lodge at Blue Sky doesn’t just pamper; it connects you to the raw beauty of Utah in ways you never expected. The Edge Spa is perched on the brink of a dramatic canyon, offering treatments that feel as expansive as the views. Signature therapies incorporate wild-harvested ingredients from the surrounding land—think sage, juniper, and lavender—blended into custom oils for massages and aromatherapy. Among the standout treatments is the High West Whiskey Rubdown, which uses the distillery’s whiskey-infused oil to soothe muscles while making you smell just faintly rebellious. For those looking to reset more than just their body, the Energy Healing at the Edge Sanctuary uses crystal therapy and sound bowls to tap into your inner calm.
If movement is your thing, the lodge has you covered with options that go beyond the expected. Yoga here isn’t just a class; it’s an experience. Flow through your practice indoors, outdoors, or—if you’re feeling adventurous—on a mountaintop after a scenic helicopter ride. For something more meditative, guided sessions combine breathing techniques and mindfulness against the backdrop of alpine serenity. If plunging into icy creekside tubs sounds like the wake-up call you’ve been missing, the Wim Hof-style cold plunge experience will invigorate your senses and maybe even change your perspective on what "relaxation" means.
Between treatments, the lodge’s fitness studio offers a fully equipped gym complete with a Pilates reformer for strength and alignment. Prefer the great outdoors? Explore miles of hiking and snowshoeing trails that wind through 3,500 private acres, where you might spot a train of elk if you’re lucky. And for those who’d rather stay cozy, in-room treatments bring the spa experience right to your door, while the Wellness Warrior Program creates personalized itineraries to meet your goals. Whether you’re indulging in a massage, finding your flow in yoga, or tackling a snowy trail, wellness at Blue Sky is about finding harmony with the land and yourself.

Activities for all seasons
Here’s the deal: no matter when you visit Blue Sky, there’s enough to do that you’ll forget what the word “bored” means. The sheer breadth of activities and experiences on offer are enough to have you coming back season after season.
Winter transforms Blue Sky into a snow-dusted paradise. Skiing enthusiasts will appreciate the lodge’s private Ski Lounge at Park City Mountain Resort, complete with hot drinks, snacks and ski tune-ups. Prefer something off the beaten path? Try snowshoeing, dog sledding, or even a guided heli-skiing adventure. And if you’ve ever wanted to master the art of whiskey, the hot toddy-making class at the mountaintop yurt is as fun as it sounds.
Summer, on the other hand, turns the ranch into an adventure playground. Guided hikes, mountain biking and horseback riding let you explore the property’s vast terrain. For a truly heartwarming experience, check out the equine program at the Saving Gracie Foundation, where rescued horses are cared for and rehabilitated. Whether you’re grooming a horse, helping with the feedings or learning about their history, this is one activity that stays with you. For those wanting to dive even deeper into equine adventures, the Arena will be your space for the riding experience of a lifetime, where the staff will customize a program based on your skill level to practice riding skills and other techniques specific to cowboys of the west.
Year-round, there’s fly fishing, clay shooting and hands-on experiences at Gracie’s Farm. And for the creatively inclined, workshops like fabric dyeing and salve-making offer a chance to bring a piece of Blue Sky home with you.
The perfect place for little explorers
The Lodge has a host of options for kids of any age. The Little Vaqueros Club, designed for children ages 5-12, introduces younger guests to the magic of ranch life with hands-on experiences that blend learning and play. Each day offers a new adventure and can be enjoyed with a half or full-day session. From visiting the rescue animals at Gracie’s Farm to mastering the basics of roping and riding, these activities connect kids to nature in ways that are both exciting and enriching. There’s even a chance to try farm chores, like feeding the horses, and aiding in conservation efforts planting native wildflower seeds along the creek.
For teens craving a bit more independence and adrenaline, The Lodge offers customized Teen Adventures that cater to their interests and energy levels. Options include everything from guided mountain bike rides and rock climbing to equestrian activities that channel their inner cowboy or cowgirl. Teens can also try their hand at fly fishing or clay shooting, balancing skill and focus with a sense of fun. These programs are designed to challenge, inspire and create memories that feel uniquely their own—because nothing beats the glow of mastering a new skill against the backdrop of Blue Sky’s expansive terrain.
A place where memories can be made
If you’re planning a wedding, corporate retreat, or just a really fabulous party, Blue Sky has you covered. The Remuda Riding Arena, the Wine Room and even the mountaintop yurt are just a few of the places that can be transformed into stunning venues that elevate your event from memorable to legendary. Whether you’re hosting a black-tie gala or an intimate gathering, the settings here offer a natural elegance that requires little decoration—though the spaces can tailor every detail to your vision. And yes, if you’re looking to go all out, you can buy out the entire property. After all, nothing says “best party ever” like having a private infinity pool, 3,500 acres of wilderness and a whiskey distillery at your disposal.
For guests arriving early or staying after the festivities, the options for adventure and relaxation are endless. Early birds can explore the ranch with activities like guided hikes or horseback riding, or head into Park City for some exploring, setting the tone for an unforgettable event. Afterward, guests can unwind at the Edge Spa, enjoy a whiskey tasting at the High West Distillery, and gather for more meals at the mountainside restaurants. For those who crave adventure, options like yoga on a mountaintop or snowshoeing through pristine trails ensure there’s always something to do. Hosting your celebration at Blue Sky means more than just a day to remember—it’s an experience your guests will talk about long after the champagne glasses are empty.
A legacy of care
At its heart, Blue Sky is about connection—not just to people, but to the land and its creatures. This ethos shines through in every aspect of the lodge’s operations, from the regenerative practices at Gracie’s Farm, which prioritizes soil health and biodiversity, to the no single-use plastic and use of local materials helps preserve the integrity of this area. Guests are invited to engage with these initiatives firsthand, whether through farm-to-table dining that features ingredients grown just steps away or by participating in immersive programs that teach the importance of living in harmony with the environment. Sustainability isn’t just a behind-the-scenes effort here; it’s woven into the guest experience, offering opportunities to connect with the land in meaningful ways.
Blue Sky takes this mission even further through the Saving Gracie Foundation, a sanctuary for rescue horses and other animals. Founded by the lodge’s owner, Barb Phillips, the foundation provides medical care, rehabilitation and a loving home to animals that have experienced neglect or trauma. Guests can visit the animals, learn about their care and even participate in therapeutic programs that highlight the unique connection between humans and horses. Proceeds from these activities go directly to supporting the foundation’s work, ensuring that every visit has a lasting positive impact. By staying at Blue Sky, you’re not just indulging in a luxurious retreat—you’re contributing to a legacy of care and stewardship that benefits the land, animals and community alike.
